1- The diameter of the razor wire mesh concertina

The diameter of the blades (400 mm, 500 mm, 600 mm, 750 mm, 900 mm) is chosen individually for each object. It is the main parameter. The larger the diameter, the more efficient the installation will be. However, the larger the diameter, the higher the price per meter of the blade. Another detail - usually indicates the diameter of the carrying bay. After stretching and setting, the diameter of a razor wire mesh decreases. For example, a disc with a diameter of 500 mm will have a diameter of 450 mm after installation.

2- The number of turns of the blade

The number of turns of the concertina can range from 31 to 61. the lower the number of turns - the easier the serpentine is to install and the easier it is to manoeuvre during installation, but more often it is necessary to connect the serpentine and each connection point is a potential weak point.

3- The length of the razor wire spiral coil stretch

The length of a razor wire coil, which is the distance between adjacent coils, is what the seller claims on the price list and is often different from reality. The maximum distance between spiral coils should not exceed 390 mm. Failure to do so will result in an increased distance between coils, reducing the rigidity of the concertina and the loss of protection of the razor strip, thus distorting the idea of creating a high-performance defense.

4- Number of rivets

Often, the seller takes advantage of the buyer's ignorance by not specifying the number of rivets (3 or 5) and selling cheap miniature rivets for 3 times the price of the more expensive 5 miniature rivets. It must be remembered that if the use of 3-micro bolts is still valid for small diameter coils (500-600 mm) because it reduces the effectiveness of the barrier (its hardness and resistance), then for large diameter coils (900 mm) it is unacceptable - the fence is ineffective.

5- The quality of the raw material

The thickness of the galvanised strip must be within 0.5 - 0.55 mm. The initial use of thin strips will have little effect on the effectiveness of the security fence (the performance of the fence - no nails interlock and it bends) but in the long run will reduce the barriers to several repairs. The guide wire should always be galvanised high carbon with a diameter of 2.4 - 2.5 mm.
